Business Development Associate

Department: Carrier Appointment

Brightway Insurance's dynamic College Development Program is designed to cultivate entry level business professionals into future industry leaders. Through comprehensive training and mentorship in product knowledge, sales techniques, and business operations, you'll gain the skills needed to excel. Starting as part of a cohort of ten new hires, you will benefit from a collaborative learning environment led by our experienced Leadership Team. Upon completion of the program, you'll have the opportunity to choose from career paths, including client service, agency support, independent agency ownership, or agency development.

Tailored to your progression and interests, this 12 - 18 month program offers a phased approach with specific milestones and support structures, ensuring your success in this stable yet dynamic industry. Embark on a journey from onboarding and education to hands-on experience and ultimately, ownership of a thriving business, all within a supportive and growth-oriented environment. Whether you want to be your own boss, set your own schedule, be a pillar in the community or provide technical and services to others, we are the place to help you start your career.

This position is based in our Charlotte, NC office located in the Southend area.

Job Responsibilities

· Learn about our business model and successful business operation processes

· Prospect warm leads on Brightway’s current book of business

· Develop new carrier leads through prospecting and lead development

· Maintain a book of business, focusing on territory development and relationship retention.

· Proactively makes outbound calls or send emails to prospects to sell company’s features and benefits

· Under general supervision, focus on sales, leads, retention, customer service and community of Brightway with our carriers

· Organize and prioritize tasks efficiently, utilizing calendars and checklists

· Identify opportunities for process improvement and sales development

· Document activities and follow-up accurately

· Collaborate effectively within a team to ensure streamlined operations.

Program Graduation Career Paths:

· Work in a Brightway Agency supporting our agents and customers.

· Work in a existing Brightway Agency developing your own book of business.

· Start your own Brightway Agency!

Skills, Licenses, Certifications

· Ability to obtain P&C licensure within 3 months (Company sponsored).

· Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy, exceptional attention to detail

· Superior customer service mindset: a desire and ability to deliver service that provides a high level of satisfaction

· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

· Excellent independent judgment and decision making

· Ability to learn, embrace and put into practice new concepts and skills

Compensation and Benefits

  • $50,000 Base salary + program completion bonus; commission eligible upon program completion.

Education and Experience

This position requires a bachelor’s degree and 0-3 years’ experience in a customer service or sales environment. Education or experience focused in insurance, risk management or entrepreneurship is preferred, but not required
